BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES
Grace Phillips is a visual artist who lives and works in Houston, Texas. She uses a variety of
media, including painting, drawing, collage, sculpture, printmaking and mixed-media
installations.
She studied art at University of Houston and the Glassell Studio School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Phillips later served on the board of the Houston Women’s Caucus for Art and is a member of Women in the Visual and Literary Arts (WiVLA) and PrintMatters, Houston, Texas.
For 17 years she lived in the Middle East, first in Dammam, Saudi Arabia and then in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Gilliam was the Director of Gallery 76 at the Dubai International Art
Center. She relocated to Houston in 2011.
